On a historic summer night within the hallowed confines of Yankee Stadium, baseball fans from around the country gathered togehter to celebrate the final season of that venerable ball park. In the days leading up to the MLB 2008 All-Star Game, TEAM Coalition participated for the fourth consecutive year in the MLB FanFest, an interactive baseball-themed carnival, which takes place every year during the All-Star break. TEAM snapped free souvenir photos of fans who had made the Responsibility Has Its Rewards pledge. Fans also had the opportunity to film their own video about responsible fan behavior. Footage from the spots will be made into a public service annoucement for MLB. TEAM Coalition partnered with Major League Baseball and Anheuser-Busch for the event, getting the message out about the importance of designating a driver, buckling up, and demonstrating positive fan behavior.

Danielle pledged to be a designated driver at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, MO. She was selected as the Royals designated driver of the season, and then as a winner in the RHIR sweepstakes. US DOT / NHTSA 2007 NATIONAL DATA:
  • In 2007, 12,998 people were killed as a result of alcohol-related (BAC > 0.08) car crashes, a decline of 3.7% from the 13,491 fatalities in 2006
  • Many, if not most of those lives would have been saved if people did not drive when they were impaired by alcohol or if they used sober, designated drivers or if they simply wore their seat belts.
  • Statistics and research clearly show that 21-34 year old males are the demographic most likely to be involved in an automobile crash, drive when impaired by alcohol, and fail to buckle up.
