The TEAM Coalition and the National Basketball Association are supporting the designated driver programs at all NBA arenas during the 2008/09 season with a special incentive called the Responsibility Has Its Rewards sweepstakes. Every arena offers fans a designated driver booth program. Fans who register to be a designated driver pledge to not drink alcohol, drive their friends and family home safely, and ensure that everyone always buckles up.

At the end of the season, one Designated Driver for the Season from each team is selected. The Designated Drivers from the teams that compete in the 2009 NBA Finals® will each receive two (2) tickets to the first game of the Finals played at the arena of their favorite NBA team.

A trip to the 2010 NBA All-Star Game® in Dallas, TX will be awarded one of the remaining 28 Designated Drivers for the Season. The All-Star Game® trip includes two (2) tickets to the game, roundtrip airfare, and hotel accommodations (if necessary).

Entrants for the Responsibilty Has Its Rewards sweepstakes were all NBA fans who pledged to be the designated driver for their friends and family at an NBA arena during the 2008/09 season. Entry was also available online at www.rhir.org or by mail. Click here for complete sweepstakes rules.

To promote this incentive, TEAM produced TV and radio PSAs. The TV PSAs aired on local broadcast stations in NBA markets, and they were also played on the video boards in NBA arenas. The radio PSAs aired on local radio stations and national radio networks. Click here for the PSAs.
