TEAM Coalition and the National Hockey League are supporting the designated driver programs at NHL arenas during the 2009/10 season with a special incentive called the Responsibility Has Its Rewards sweepstakes. Every arena offers fans a designated driver booth program. Fans who register to be a designated driver pledge to not drink alcohol, drive their friends and family home safely, and ensure that everyone always buckles up.
At the end of the season, one Designated Driver for the Season from each team that participated is
selected. A randomly selected
Designated Driver from the teams that took part in the RHIR program in 2010 will receive
two (2) tickets to the 2011 NHL All-Star Game® in Raleigh, NC at the RBC Center.
The All-Star Game® trip included two (2) tickets to
the game, roundtrip airfare, and hotel accommodations (if necessary).
Entrants for the Responsibilty Has Its Rewards sweepstakes were all NHL fans who
pledged to be the designated driver for their friends and family at an NHL arena
during the 2009/10 season. Entry was also available online at www.rhir.org or by mail.

To promote this incentive, TEAM produced TV and radio PSAs. The TV
PSAs aired on local broadcast stations in NHL markets, and they were
also played on the video boards in NHL arenas. The radio PSAs
aired on local radio stations and national radio networks. Click here for the PSAs.
